This Southend-on-Sea project involved the installation of bespoke Iroko timber swing gates with a matching pedestrian access gate for a residential driveway.
The client wanted a secure entrance solution that combined reliable vehicle access with a natural timber finish to complement the surrounding property and boundary fencing.
The vehicle gates were constructed from solid Iroko hardwood, a durable timber widely used for external gate installations due to its strength, stability and resistance to weathering.
To suit the width of the entrance, the driveway gates were designed with offset gate leaves, creating a balanced appearance while allowing the gates to open smoothly across the driveway.
The gates are powered by underground gate motors, providing fully automated operation while keeping the automation system discreetly hidden beneath the gate hinges. This allows the natural timber gates to remain the visual focus while still benefiting from modern automation.
Alongside the main driveway gates, a matching pedestrian access gate was installed to provide convenient everyday access without needing to operate the vehicle gates.
The installation included:
